Hawk Watch

ACADIA NAT’L PARK —Visitors can join park rangers in identifying hawks that migrate south over the summit of Cadillac Mountain here beginning on Aug. 19. On average, 2,500 raptors are counted each year.

Weather permitting, the hawk watch takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. near the end of the North Ridge Trail, which is about 200 yards from the summit. Hawk Watch runs through Oct. 9. For more information, call Angi Johnston at 288-8810.
