Harbor House Director to Step Down

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Elena Scotti, director of the Harbor House Community Service Center here announced Monday that she will be stepping down.


In a message to friends and supporter she wrote: “I wanted to write and thank you each for making me feel welcome and apart of the Mount Desert Island community. I have spent three solid years (including winters!) on MDI and three solid years running Harbor House. On the eve of my third anniversary, I have decided for both personal and professional reasons to move on.

“Harbor House is in the midst of an exciting transformation, and I hope that you will all continue to support its work and growth as the organization’s plans unfold.”

Before coming to Harbor House Ms. Scotti launched and ran a successful advertising agency for 12 years that specialized in youth and women’s marketing.

On the non-profit side she has worked for The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Inc.,the Central Park Conservancy, Cooper Union and Partnership for a Drug-Free America.

No timetable for her departure has been announced.
