Greenhouse Project Meeting Feb. 27

BROOKSVILLE — The Greenhouse Project will host a meeting for individuals, families and institutions interested in growing food year-round.

The meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 27, at 1 p.m. at the Reversing Falls Sanctuary in North Brooksville.

The discussion will include site evaluation, greenhouse design and construction. The two types of greenhouses already constructed are a freestanding greenhouse at the Brooksville Elementary School and numerous greenhouses attached to individual homes. A slide presentation of the construction process and completed greenhouses will be viewed.

Technical data and a sample of glazing material will be available. The logistics of a community order of the glazing material and other supplies including pricing will be discussed. The aim of the meeting is to organize for potential site visits, the community order and enlisting volunteers.

The meeting is open to all.
