Greene Resigns as GSA Headmaster

BLUE HILL — The Board of Trustees at George Stevens Academy last week accepted John Greene’s resignation as headmaster, effective June 30, and then placed him on paid administrative leave, effective immediately.

Each decision was reached by a unanimous vote.

Board President Rob Clapp said Greene had sent a letter to the GSA faculty that included his intention to resign. He sent a copy of the letter to the Board of Trustees.

Clapp declined to disclose any reasons Greene cited for resigning from the post. Efforts to reach Greene for comment were unsuccessful.

The board appointed Assistant Head of School Jill Cohen as acting head of school. Cohen was serving her second year as GSA’s assistant head of school.
