ELLSWORTH — The Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting a workshop on maintaining gravel roads and nontraditional solutions to gravel road problems on Wednesday, June 1, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ellsworth City Hall.
The workshop is a combination of classroom and in-the-field training that instructs participants on how to install practical, cost-effective fixes to significantly improve their roads and protect water quality.
The workshop will be presented by professionals from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and the Maine Department of Agriculture.
Pre-registration is required by contacting the Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District at 667-8663.
The cost for the workshop is $10 per person, which includes lunch and snacks.
