Hold a shooting star, crack crystal-filled geodes, marvel at other rocks during Tony Sohns’ lively workshop starting at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, at the Ellsworth Public Library. The science educator and proprietor of the Rock & Art Shop on Route 1A in Ellsworth, Sohns will share his knowledge of Maine mineral treasures and offer hands-on activities in a free workshop geared for children aged 6 and up. At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, Marjorie Michaud of Stampz N Stuff in Bar Harbor will show how to make marbleized paper with ink and shaving cream. Anna Woolf of Wildcard Pottery will teach kids how to make “ugly mugs” at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 23. All the workshops are free thanks to Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library.
