BLUE HILL — Blue Hill Heritage Trust is hosting a three-tiered gardening workshop featuring local experts from the community on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
All are welcome to come and and enjoy a soup and bread lunch and learn how to:
- Put your gardens to bed for the winter and protect them with a winter cover crop. This will be taught by Jo Barrett (formerly of King Hill Farm).
- Plant garlic to enjoy flavorful garlic scrapes in the early summer and plentiful fresh garlic for the next year. This will be taught by Anna Wind of Healthy Peninsula.
- Establish a winter native plant nursery and “edit” out pesky grasses and invasive through Hugel culture with Lee Lee of the SEED Barn.
Plants can be dropped off at the office anytime or can be brought the day of the event.
