ELLSWORTH — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Hancock and Washington counties are hosting a Gear Up for Gardening event on Saturday, April 4, from 12:30-4 p.m. at the Moore Community Center in Ellsworth.
The day will begin with a panel discussion titled “Gardening in a Shifting Climate.” Speaking will be Acadia National Park’s vegetation biologist, UMaine Extension’s crops specialist and two experienced local organic farmers.
The discussion will be followed by an afternoon of gardening workshops. Those attending can sign up for two of the six workshops being offered.
The cost is $15 for adults or $10 for students for the whole afternoon. Pre-registration is required.
