Garden Club Program Aug. 20

ELLSWORTH — On Monday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m., the Ellsworth Garden Club will be hosting an illustrated talk and workshop on “Designing for Natural Landscapes in Coastal Maine.”

The featured speaker will be Claire Ackroyd, a landscape designer and ecologist who is based in Orono.

Having over 30 years of experience with Maine landscapes, Ackroyd specializes in environmentally sensitive landscape design emphasizing native plant material.

Refreshments and an informal question-and-answer workshop will follow the talk.

The event will take place at the Sleigh Barn at the Woodlawn Museum on the Surry Road in Ellsworth. It is open to the public free of charge, but seating is limited, so participants are encouraged to come early.
