Full Moon Hike In Columbia Falls

COLUMBIA FALLS — The Downeast Rivers Land Trust, a program of the Downeast Salmon Federation, will hold a full moon hike/snowshoe on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.


The event will take place in the trust’s “Salmon Safe Community Forest” in Columbia Falls. The event will include a bonfire and hot beverages, as well as an interpretive talk on winter ecology of the streams and surrounding forest and information on the conservation work of the Downeast Salmon Federation.

Following the interpretive talk there will be two hiking options, a short hike along Eastern Little River, or a longer hike into the “Community Forest,” including owl calling.

Interested parties should meet at the Wild Salmon Resource Center, 187 Main St in downtown Columbia Falls at 6:30 to car pool to the site.
