Free virtual concerts starting Dec. 28

ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth Community Music Institute (ECMI) welcomes concert lovers back with a new series of virtual midday concerts starting Monday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m.

The first concert will be performed by violinist Robert Anemone and pianist Choo Choo Hu, pre-recorded especially for ECMI’s audience. The public may access the concert via Facebook, ECMI’s website or by a link sent via email. Admission is free to the public.

The program will include works by Beethoven, Boulanger and Szymanowski.

First prize winner of the 2015 Hudson Valley Philharmonic Strings Competition, the 2013-14 New England Conservatory Violin Competition and the 2007 Concord Young Artist Competition, Anemone is currently a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Hu has performed all across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist. Recent solo engagements include appearances with the Atlanta Symphony, the Spokane Symphony and the Atlanta Philharmonic.
