ELLSWORTH — To thank the local community for their support as Woodlawn has eased back into business after the pandemic closure and slowdown, Hancock County residents are invited to wrap up their summer with a free tour of the museum during the last weekend of August.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26-28, all are welcome. Call 667-8671 to reserve the tour and time of your preference.
Docent-led tours are limited to six people and are offered on the hour and there are also limited self-directed audio tours that are available throughout the day.
On Saturday and Sunday, the carriage barn will also open, which is a self-directed display of the Black family carriages. Visitors will be able to look into the chain link fence to see the construction progress of the new barn.
Woodlawn is located at 19 Black House Drive (off of the Surry Road, Route 172), Ellsworth.
