Free midday concert scheduled April 29

ELLSWORTH — Violinist Claudia Warburg, violist Robert Dan and pianist James Parakilas will play a free midday concert at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 29, at the Moore Community Center in Ellsworth.

The trio will perform works by Mozart and Schumann.

Warburg is an active member of the musical community of the Triangle area in Durham, N.C. She spent many summers in Maine performing and teaching at Kneisel Hall and the Downeast Chamber Music Center.

Dan has appeared extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, performing and giving master classes. He is no stranger to Maine audiences, having performed at the Portland Music Festival, the Camden Chamber Music Society and more.

Parakilas is the James L. Moody Jr. Family Professor of Performing Arts emeritus at Bates College, where he taught music from 1979 to 2016. He plays piano in solo and chamber recitals.

Admission is free and the concert is open to the public.
