FRANKLIN — The Franklin Historical Society will be hosting Park Fest, formerly known as Picnic in the Park, on Sunday, Aug. 19, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Granite Park on Route 182 in Franklin.
This will be a “Living History Day” featuring an open blacksmith’s shop, a granite cutting demonstration for kids and adults and blueberry winnowing with an old fashioned winnowing machine.
There will be free books and activities for kids, craft vendors, a used book sale for the Franklin Library, music, a fire truck and lobster rolls, hot dogs and ice cream.
The public is invited to come, stroll the park and check out the historic granite displays, sculpture and newly installed Blue Star Memorial and butterfly garden honoring veterans.
