Fourth of July celebration this weekend in Cherryfield

CHERRYFIELD — The town of Cherryfield’s annual pre-fourth of July Celebration starts Friday, June 28, and ends Sunday, June 30.

Friday’s events include a children’s parade starting at 5 p.m. and a bed race starting at 6, followed by a street dance at 7.

On Saturday, there will be activities all day on the bandstand, including a bounce house, face painting, food, music and craft vendors and karaoke.

Other Saturday events include a three-legged race at 9 a.m.

At 10, festivities include a dog show, a pie eating contest, a hula hoop contest and a car show.

Lawn mower races start at 11 behind the bandstand followed by a chicken barbecue.

There is a grand parade at 2 p.m. Saturday with fireworks at 9.

The celebration weekend concludes Sunday with a co-ed softball tourney at Cherryfield Elementary School at 10 a.m.
