Forum on opiate crisis May 28

BLUE HILL — Community Compass, as part of its “Connected Community Forum” series on regional issues affecting poverty, is sponsoring a discussion program on Tuesday, May 28, from 4-6 p.m. at the Blue Hill Congregational Church.

The topic is “Community Response to the Opiate Crisis.”

Invited speakers will include Barbara Royal, director of Open Door Recovery Center in Ellsworth; Denise Black with the Recovery Coaches and Substance Treatment Network programs at Healthy Acadia; and Gordan Smith, Governor Janet Mills’ new coordinator of statewide opiate use treatment and prevention efforts.
