WINTER HARBOR — Part of Schoodic Institute’s monthly brown bag lunch series, “Be Woods Wise” is a presentation by Michael Jensen, district forester from the Maine Forest Service about the state program of the same name. The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 20, at noon, and will be held both in person and remotely via Zoom.
District foresters can help landowners identify the types of trees on their land, evaluate their health and value and develop sustainable harvesting plans.
Jensen’s background includes working in the forests of North America from Maine to Alaska. He has worked as an employee in an old-fashioned circular sawmill, as a self-employed conventional logger, private consulting forester and in a shared state/federal position as water quality forester for New Hampshire Forests and Lands.
This free event is open to the public and registration is not required.
