Food Film Showings In Blue Hill

BLUE HILL — There will be two local showings of a new film called “FRESH” that celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are reinventing the nation’s food system.

The highly acclaimed film features stories of people from around the United States who are working to create a healthier, more sustainable food system.

The film will be shown on Friday, Aug. 21, at Central Hall in South Blue Hill at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Blue Hill Library at 1 p.m.

Kathy Ozer of the National Family Farm Coalition will be on hand at Friday’s showing for questions and to discuss issues facing family farmers in the United States.

Refreshments made from local food will also be available. Both events are free and open to the public. A suggested donation of $10 is welcome and will benefit Food for Maine’s Future.
