Firefighters Called to Bar Harbor Home

BAR HARBOR — Firefighters were called to a home at 17 Rodick Street shortly after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, responding to reports that the house was full of smoke. Radio traffic from first responding crews indicated “a structure fire in progress.”

The house is owned by Sharon Joyce of Bar Harbor. No one was in the building at the time the alarm was received. Two cats were believed to be in the structure, firefighters said.

Although there was a lot of smoke, no major fire was discovered. Crews brought the cats out and worked to clear the smoke.
