Film Showing at Jesup Library



BAR HARBOR — The film “Dancing at the Mill” will be shown on Friday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Jesup Memorial Library in Bar Harbor.

The film depicts life on Mount Desert Island from the mid-1700s through the late 1940s. It begins with Abraham Somes’ founding of the earliest colonial settlement on the island and blossoms into a presentation about island history, culture and community.

The film was written by Gunnar Hansen, who has authored and directed numerous documentary films and who wrote “Mount Desert: An Informal History.”

Doors will open at 6:30. A donation at the door is requested.
