STEUBEN — The Henry D. Moore Library and Community Center in Steuben will host a concert by Acadian fiddler Gus La Casse at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20.
La Casse, who is described as a passionate and masterful player who values tradition, has a repertoire that reflects his innovative spirit and dedication to the Cape Breton and Acadian fiddle traditions. He plays both standards of the genre and his original material.
Based in Downeast Maine, La Casse maintains an active performance schedule as a solo artist. He was a student in residence at The Acadia School of Traditional Music and traveled to Ireland as part of the Young Tradition Vermont touring group in 2016. In 2018, he was a featured performer at the American Folk Festival in Bangor.
Refreshments will be served and admission is by donation. The library is located at 22 Village Road in Steuben.
