SEDGWICK — The “Bountiful Harvest” series of summer farm tours continues this Sunday, Aug. 16, at Dan’s Flower Farm in Sedgwick starting at 1 p.m.
The tours, sponsored by the Blue Hill Co-op Community Market & Café, give the public a chance to get to know the local farmers and producers on the Blue Hill Peninsula and to learn more about their small business operations.
At Dan’s Flower Farm, Dan Nygaard and Leslie Anderson produce locally grown cut flowers.
The farm and art gallery is located at 8 Flower Farm Lane, off of North Sedgwick Road.
The “Bountiful Harvest” tours will continue throughout the summer as follows: Aug. 29, Old Ackley Farm, Blue Hill; Sept. 12, King Hill Farm, Penobscot; Oct. 10, Homewood Farm, Blue Hill. The series concludes with a Community Cider Press Day on Oct. 18 at 5 Star Nursery & Orchard in Brooklin.
The tours will be held rain or shine, and children of all ages are welcome to attend. The Blue Hill Co-op farm tours are free and open to the public. Pre-registration for the tours is recommended. For more information or to reserve a spot for Sunday’s tour, contact Jackie Pike at 326-0780.
