PENOBSCOT — On Saturday, Aug. 6, the Penobscot Historical Society will be hosting a Family Day on its grounds on Route 199 in Penobscot.
The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. and is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome to attend.
There will be many interactive activities going on in the various buildings on the grounds, including basket weaving in the farmhouse, identifying tools in the barn, a tug of war and croquet on the field, spelling bees and writing on slates in the one-room schoolhouse and ice cream making in the general store.
Those who pre-register will receive a special piece of mail in post office in the general store.
The rain date for the event is Aug. 7.
