Events for seniors scheduled



ELLSWORTH — “Eat Smart, Grow Strong”, a free nutrition and exercise class for older adults (60 and older), will be offered at the Friends in Action Senior Center in the Moore Community Center in Ellsworth starting on Monday, May 13, from 10 to 11 a.m.

This is the first of four sessions and participants can join for any one session or all four. The class is offered in partnership with Healthy Acadia and in celebration of Older Americans Month in May.

Friends in Action also is offering a free class on scrapbooking at the senor center on Mondays at 11 a.m. starting May 13.

Participants should pre-register so that materials are available.

Attorney Joseph Connors will speak about Legal Services for the Elderly, which provides free services for seniors, on Tuesday, May 14, at 10 a.m. at the senior center.
