Ellsworth Police: Televisions Stolen from Walmart

ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Police Department is investigating the theft of televisions from the Walmart Supercenter Dec. 29.


A man stole at least two televisions, police said.

While walking out with a television the second time, a Walmart greeter told him he needed a receipt, said Detective Dotty Small. The man told the greeter his mother had the receipt then went out the automotive entrance, she said.

Sexual Assault

Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred during the overnight hours between Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 at a Bayside Avenue residence.


A driver turning left into a driveway from an improper lane position and without signaling collided with a pickup truck that was passing on the left on Route 1 near Washington Hancock Community Agency Dec. 30, police said.

The driver, who was operating a 1997 Plymouth, had been looking for a business and pulled over to the right side of the road. She located the business then suddenly turned left without signaling, police said.

Phyllis Emerson, 85, of Hancock, was the driver of the Plymouth, which collided with a 1998 Ford 2500 operated by Ames Robbins, 29 of Frankfort, police reported.

Arrests and Summonses

Jeffrey A. Brown, 39, Sedgwick, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, false attachment of registration plates.

John M. Crocker, 34, Ellsworth, operating after suspension.

Chelsey Johnson, 29, Ellsworth, violating conditions of her release, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

Dean Fernald, 30, Ellsworth, violating conditions of his release.

Jamie Brown, 30, Ellsworth violating conditions of his release.

Crystal Roberts, 39, Hancock, operating after suspension.
