Ellsworth Police: Teen Charged With Pointing Gun at Officer



ELLSWORTH — A 16-year-old Ellsworth boy was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly pointed a gun a police officer who had arrived to break up an underage drinking party at the boy’s house Saturday, February 20th.

 

Police were called to the residence, which is on the Mariaville Road, shortly after 11 p.m.

The boy allegedly pointed a rifle at Officer Andrew Weatherbee, police reported.

The boy was arrested on charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol, refusing to sign a summons and illegal possession of liquor by a minor.

Several others were charged as a result of the investigation.

Jeffrey Jordan, 20, of Surry was arrested on charges of bail violation and illegal possession of liquor by a minor.

Anderson Flach, 18, of Ellsworth was summoned on a charge of illegal possession of liquor by a minor.

The following were also charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor: Hancock girl, 14; Brooksville boy, 15; Otis girl 16; Prospect Harbor boy, 17; Surry boy, 17.

Pedestrian Struck

An Ellsworth woman was charged after she ran over a man’s foot at a local shopping center Friday night, police said.

Police said she didn’t intend to run over the man’s foot and they did not know each other. She was allegedly upset about another matter at the time, police said.

Jill Fickett, 35, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, operating after suspension, operating beyond her license restriction and on a warrant charging failure to appear.

Theft

A local convenience store reported a theft of $1,740.33 Feb. 18. The money was embezzled by an employee, police said. The investigation continues.

Accidents

The driver of a sport utility vehicle sideswiped a city of Ellsworth plow truck that had been stopped at the intersection of Route 1A and Branch Pond Road Monday, police reported.

Joseph McErlain, 24, of Ellsworth was driving a 2003 Ford SUV, which struck a 2006 three-axle plow truck operated by Dustin Leyendecker, 36, of Hancock, police said.

The SUV struck the plow on the truck, causing an estimated $8,000 in damage to the entire passenger side of the SUV, police said. The plow truck was not damaged.

Thomas Lockhart, 20, Dexter, illegal possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor.
