Ellsworth Police: Several Burglaries Under Investigation



ELLSWORTH — The Police Department is investigating several residential burglaries, including seasonal residences.

 

One burglary resulted in a theft of $275 in change, police said. Jewelry estimated at $250 is missing from another residence.

Sexual Assault

An out-of-state police agency requested officials here conduct a forensic interview of a girl, 15, who disclosed a sexual assault by her father. The investigation is continuing.

Vandalism

While doing security checks of downtown buildings before 5 a.m. Sunday, an officer discovered a large number of eggs had been thrown at a Main Street building.

Accidents

A car struck a trailer being towed by a pickup truck after the car’s operator changed lanes on Myrick Street Nov. 4, police said.

James Littlefield, 65, of Brooksville was driving a 2010 Subaru, which hit the wheel of a trailer being pulled by a 1995 Ford pickup, which Alvah Carter, 31, of Gouldsboro was operating, police reported.

Littlefield advised police that as he was changing lanes, the truck sped by him on the left, which caused the trailer to collide with his vehicle, police reported.

An officer estimated $2,000 in damage to the car. The trailer was not damaged.

A motorist who crashed his motorcycle on Water Street Monday was arrested on two Aroostook County warrants.

Police also charged the operator, Clinton Michaud, 20, of Ellsworth with operating after suspension.

Michael Laferriere, 28, Hancock, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

Robert Pinkham, 24, Ellsworth, operating after suspension, violating conditions of release.

Carlina Virgin, 18, Steuben, theft.

Allen Hammond, 29, Gouldsboro, OUI.

Chad Steen, 43, Hancock, OUI.

David Ayers, 72, Steuben, operating after suspension.

Nathanael Smith, 39, Franklin, theft.

Shawn P. McVay, 20, Waltham, driving to endanger.

Ada Rounseville, 40, Ellsworth, domestic assault.
