Ellsworth Police: Police Aid Intoxicated Woman

ELLSWORTH — Police were called to Shaw’s Sunday to help a woman who was so intoxicated she couldn’t walk and could barely speak, Officer Christopher Smith said.


When Smith arrived, he was unable to rouse the woman, but she was breathing normally, he said. The officer called County Ambulance to take her to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital.


A van collided with another vehicle after the van’s operator attempted to cross Route 3 from the Ellsworth Car Wash Saturday, Officer Rick Roberts reported.

Sally Lounder, 64, of Franklin was driving a 2000 Plymouth van, which collided with a 2004 Toyota operated south by Peter Schroeder, 53, of Winter Harbor, Roberts said.

The officer estimated $3,500 in damage to the Toyota and $2,500 for the van.

Gregory Hollingsworth, 39, Tuscaloosa, Ala., violating transient seller’s act.
