Ellsworth Police: Officers Handle Numerous Accidents



ELLSWORTH — The first week of July brought numerous motor vehicle accidents to the city.

Police officers handled at least four collisions involving vehicles that rear-ended others on routes 1A, 3 and 1.

On Monday, a driver attempting to cut across Route 3 from the Ellsworth Car Wash to Short Street collided with a car traveling south on Route 3, police said. The motorist didn’t see the oncoming car until it was too late, the officer said.

Sarah Levin, 22, of Gouldsboro was operating a 1999 Chevrolet, which collided with a southbound Honda driven by John O’Neal, 44, of Rockville, police reported.

Police estimated $5,000 in damage to the Chevrolet and $1,000 for the Honda.

Jack Wentworth, 44, Ellsworth, criminal speed.

Robert Marsee, 32, Ellsworth, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Hannah Rae, 18, Ellsworth, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Katherine Potaski, 28, Brooklyn, N.Y., operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an in intoxicant (.10 blood alcohol level).

Nina Wallace, 24, Ellsworth, violating conditions of her release by consuming alcohol (.27 percent blood alcohol level).

Matthew Milliken, 22, Ellsworth, operating after suspension.

Robert Kane, 43, Bangor, operating after suspension, possession of a suspended license.
