Drumming Ceremony Set in Blue Hill

BLUE HILL — On Sunday, June 20, people worldwide will join together by drumming (in groups or as individuals) and praying to heal Mother Earth and her waters.

Locally, a ceremony of 8,000 sacred drums is scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. at Curtis Cove beach.

In case of rain, the drum gathering will be held at the old Grange hall by the library and post office on Curtis Cove Road.

The global event called “8,000 Drums” began in 2004 in Mexico and is held around the time of the equinoxes and solstices every year.

Extra hand drums will be available at the Curtis Cove ceremony. All are welcome to participate.
