Downeast Outright Group Revived

ELLSWORTH — Down East AIDS Network is reviving its Downeast Outright program with the support of the United Way of Eastern Maine.

The Outright program serves several functions. It is a safe social space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning and allied (LGBTQA) teens and young adults ages 12-22.

Meeting twice monthly, Outright is a place for LGBTQA youth to meet other youth from nearby towns. Positive adult community mentors oversee the group and work with youth around health and social issues.

The Outright program meets on the second and fourth Friday of each month at 3 p.m.
