Dispatcher Remembered

BETHEL — Bar Harbor’s former head police dispatcher has been memorialized in Bethel.

A granite memorial to Brenda Gray and her husband, state trooper Leroy Gray, recently was dedicated, 17 years after the couple was killed when their small plane crashed into Mount Will, near the Sunday River ski area.

The couple’s daughter, Karen, who was 14 at the time, survived the crash and made her way down the mountain to seek help. She attended the dedication at the Bethel Airport, where the plane had taken off.
