Cryptocurrency talk scheduled Aug. 30

BLUE HILL — Cryptocurrency expert Kiril Ravensong will give a presentation about the basics of cryptocurrency, an anonymous, digital medium of payment, at the Blue Hill Public Library on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m.

Audience members are encouraged to bring a smartphone, laptop or tablet to fully participate.

Ravensong will talk about what cryptocurrency is and who uses it, as well as recent internet advances that are being used to protect wealth, transfer funds at almost no cost, conduct international trade and allow for alternative forms of fundraising for infrastructure.

On Sept. 5 and 12 at the library, retired local physician Susan Ostertag and retired clinical psychologist Barbara Sinclair will facilitate discussions exploring people’s goals, values and options for future health care decisions.

The programs run from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and are free of charge, but space is limited to 10 participants, so registration is required.
