CROP Hunger Walk Slated for May 3

ELLSWORTH — Hancock County’s eighth annual CROP Walk will be held on Sunday, May 3, at Community of Christ Church starting at 1:30 p.m.

The walk is organized locally by area churches and 25 percent of the money that is raised will be shared by the Emmaus Center and Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.

The remainder will be used to help stop hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world.

For example, CROP Walk money continues to be used to rebuild the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina.

Last year over 75 walkers raised $9,300 in the Hancock County walk.

This year, the goal is for 100 walkers to raise $10,000.
