Council Seats

BAR HARBOR — Nomination papers for the town council, school committee, and high school trustees are still available at the town clerk’s office, located in the municipal building on Cottage Street.


Two seats on the town council, now held by Paul Paradis and Greg Veilleux, are up for election this year. Both are three-year terms. Resident Jay Riley has returned completed nomination papers for the town council. Matthew Horton has taken out papers but not returned them. Mr. Paradis also has taken out papers, but has not returned them.

Two seats on the Conners-Emerson School committee, now held by Tom Burton and Brian Hubbell, also are up this year. Both men have taken out papers but not returned them. Matt McEachern also has taken out papers. Robert Webber will run for reelection to the Mount Desert Island High School trustees committee.

Nomination papers are due back to the town clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 23.
