EASTBROOK — A favorite Aesop’s fable comes to life on stage this Friday, Dec. 21, at Cave Hill School in Children’s Stage Adventure’s original musical adaption of “Cry Wolf,” a retelling of “The Boy who Cried Wolf.”
The story takes place in Kleinstadt, a small town in the Bavarian Alps, just as the community is preparing for its annual Stinky Cheese Festival. Friedrich is the new shepherd in town, replacing his aging grandfather. A pack of hungry wolves is roaming the countryside and threatening the sheep. Friedrich must protect the flock from the wolves by crying, “Wolf!” Peer pressure causes Friedrich to falsely sound the alarm and the townspeople lose trust in him. When the wolves finally attack, the cry is sounded and no one comes to Friedrich’s aid. A crazy chase ensues.
“Cry Wolf” is a Children’s Stage Adventures production. The show features an original comic script and score. Seventy-one local children will perform.
Show times are 12:45 and 5 p.m. Friday. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for senior and students. Children under 5 are free.
