Cadillac Mountain Sports To Be Honored With Top Drawer Award

ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that specialty sports retailer Cadillac Mountain Sports would be honored with a commerce award, the Top Drawer Award.

The chamber presents a Top Drawer Award annually to a business that has furthered economic development not just in Ellsworth but the region and state. The chamber’s board of directors and past presidents vote on which business should receive the honor.

“We’re extremely excited,” Curtis said about receiving the award. “We’re proud of our flagship Ellsworth store, but this was an unexpected recognition. It’s wonderful.”

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Micki Sumpter said Cadillac has “brought in a lot of people, not only tourists but everyday people who want to shop there.”

Today, Cadillac operates four stores in Bar Harbor. Besides Cadillac Mountain Sports there is Cadillac’s North Face, Cadillac’s Patagonia and Cadillac’s Nike, all on Cottage Street. Cadillac Mountain Sports employs between 30 and 100 people depending on the season.

The chamber will present the award to Cadillac Mountain Sports at the chamber’s annual dinner meeting May 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn.
