BUCKSPORT — A reportedly out of control man allegedly used a rock to smash the windshield of a vehicle parked on Main Street March 6 and then assaulted the vehicle’s owner when she tried to stop him.
The woman had minor injuries. The man was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
Patches of frozen snow caused two drivers to lose control on Millvale Road the morning of March 4.
Robin Pitchford, 56, of Bucksport was traveling north when he struck the snow and slid into the ditch.
Estimated damage to his 1997 Ford Explorer was $1,500.
Earlier that morning, Robert Mushrall, 77, of Orland was driving south on Millvale when he hit snow, crossed the centerline and overcorrected. His 2000 Chevrolet Tracker landed on its side in the ditch, pinning Mushrall inside, according to police.
Estimated damage was $2,000.
Minor injuries were reported in a Route 1 accident March 3.
Police said Robert Newman, 45, of Winterport was stopped and preparing to turn left when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 1994 Honda driven by Stephanie Alberts, 21, of Bucksport.
Newman’s 2002 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle sustained an estimated $2,500 in damage. The Honda had about $5,000 in damage.

Two benches and a plant pot were tipped over and a light broken on the waterfront March 7.
Police are investigating damage to a vehicle parked at Knox View Apartments March 3. One of the rear tires was slashed.
Police are investigating a reported assault at Bucksport High School March 5.
Police and emergency personnel responded to a suicide on Buck Street March 5.
