Victor Ireland, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of gross sexual assault, five counts of unlawful sexual contact and one charge unrelated to this case — possession of sexually explicit materials — before Hancock County Superior Court Justice Kevin M. Cuddy.

The abuse came to light on June 27 of this year when the girl was taking a bath, according to a court records written by the investigating officer, Bucksport Police Detective David Winchester.

During the bath, the girl, who is 7, told her mother that her private parts were sore and itchy, Winchester stated. When her mother asked if anyone had ever touched her private area the girl started crying and said Ireland had.
