Brown bag program at Schoodic Institute

WINTER HARBOR — The Schoodic Institute is hosting a brown bag discussion on Feb. 20 titled “Loons in Acadia in Winter and Other Findings from the First Bird Count of 2020.”

New Year’s Day is the traditional date for area citizen scientists to search for and count every bird they observe. Jan. 1, 2020, marked the 60th year of counting.

Seth Benz, the institute’s bird ecology director, will review this year’s hot-off-the-press results and provide an interactive look at the historical record.

Meet at Moore Auditorium on the Schoodic Institute campus in Winter Harbor.
