BROOKSVILLE — The Brooksville Fishing Derby will be held Sunday, Feb. 21, with fish taken on Pierce, Wight, Billings, Douglas, Woods, Walker, Parker and Snake ponds eligible for the competition.
Participants must register at $10 for adults and $5 for children, and tickets are on sale at Northern Bay Market, Curves, Yanni;’s, Eggemoggin Country Store, C&G and Seal Cove Boatyard.
Prizes worth more than $1,000 will be awarded for the largest fish in any of the five species: brown trout, brook trout, pickerel, bass and perch.
Weigh-in will be held at the Brooksville Elementary School from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A soup and chowder supper will be held at the Brooksville school from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at $8 per person or $20 per family.
