Broadband Access Topic of Meeting

PENOBSCOT — Penobscot residents are invited to a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the town office to discuss the organization of a petition drive that will urge FairPoint to expand broadband access in the town.

According to Irving Faunce, administrator of Penobscot Nursing Home, and local resident Willard Emery, the meeting is the first step to bringing the town’s needs to the attention of FairPoint.

The group will work cooperatively with FairPoint, but needs to show the provider the effect on a local employer and that many residents could be potential subscribers to the service.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
