Blue Hill Chamber Holds Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony

BLUE HILL — On Feb. 25, the Blue Hill Peninsula Chamber of Commerce celebrated the area business community at its annual Gala Dinner & Awards at Parker Ridge.

A sold-out crowd representing over 50 organizations was addressed by keynote speaker James Breece, vice chancellor for academic affairs for the University of Maine System.

Breece presented an economic history of the state and encouraged those in attendance to look for opportunities in “value-added products and services” for growth in the near future.

Board President Bill Grindle offered congratulations to the businesses in attendance.

“You have survived one of the worst business years since the Great Depression,” Grindle said. “We have learned to get by with substantially less than we were used to.”
