ELLSWORTH — Hundreds of shoppers welcomed the new Marden’s, which opened this morning in the old Walmart building on Route 3.

The supersized store drew shoppers from as far away as Lincoln.
A trio of shoppers from Bar Harbor wore specially made signs on their blouses that read Marden’s Lover.
Treasure-hunters will need hours to sift through all the goodies. The new store has everything from batteries to a swimming pool.
