Bar Harbor Council Slate is Set

BAR HARBOR — Seven candidates will compete for three town council seats when voters go to the polls this June. Incumbent town councilors Ruth Eveland and Sandy McFarland are joined in the race by residents Vicki Hall, Michael McCadden, Bob Garland, Barbara Fenderson and Christopher Walsh. Councilor Rob Jordan is not running for reelection, but is campaigning for a seat on the Mount Desert Island High School board of trustees.

Two candidates are running for two open seats on the Conners-Emerson School committee. Incumbent committee members Brian Hubbell and Claire Sasner are both running for reelection.

On the high school board, Mr. Jordan joins incumbent member Shelley Mitchell in the race for two open seats.

All candidates who took out nomination papers had returned them with enough signatures by Friday morning; the deadline for filing was the end of that day.

Town elections are set for Tuesday, June 14. The annual open town meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7.
