BAR HARBOR — Local children with autism, their family members and caregivers from Downeast Horizons will participate in an Autism Awareness Walk-a-thon in Bar Harbor on Wednesday, April 20.
The 1½-mile event will begin at 10 a.m. on Main Street at Agamont Park, overlooking the town pier and Frenchman Bay.
The walk will then proceed up Main Street to Mt. Desert Street, turn right onto Eden Street, then turn right on Cottage Street and continue back to Agamont Park.
Local businesses are welcome to show their support by displaying posters or signs at their outlets announcing the Autism Awareness Walk-a-thon.
The event is being coordinated through the Downeast Horizons Children’s Services Program.
