CASTINE — On Monday, Aug. 27, author Robin Lloyd will discuss his new work, “Harbor of Spies,” at the Unitarian Universalist Parish House on School Street in Castine.
The talk is scheduled for 7 p.m.
“Harbor of Spies: A Novel of Historic Havana” is a historical thriller set in Cuba at the height of the Civil War when Havana harbor was alive with blockade runners, spies and slave traders.
Lloyd will be speaking about the history behind his new seafaring novel and explain why he was inspired to write it. He has worked in television journalism for over 40 years.
As a former foreign correspondent for NBC News, he reported from conflict zones in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. He won an Overseas Press Award for his coverage of the wars in Central America and four regional Emmys for his documentary work as an independent news producer.
