SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Abdi Nor Iftin, author of “Call Me American – a Memoir,” will be speaking at the Southwest Harbor Public Library on Tuesday, June 4, at 5:30 p.m.
The book is the true story of the author’s heroic survival in war-ravaged Mogadishu, Somalia, and his journey to America.
He currently lives in Portland, where he works as an interpreter for Somalis who have immigrated to the state. He was accepted to the University of Southern Maine, where he will be studying political science.
