Audubon Sponsoring Pair of Talks

ELLSWORTH — Downeast Audubon is sponsoring two upcoming programs.

On Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m., Lee Kantar, state deer and moose biologist, will discuss moose biology and ecology relating to managing moose in Maine.

The talk will be held at the Ellsworth Unitarian Universalist Church. It is open to the public and refreshments will be served.

On Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. a talk titled “Adventures in Ecuador – The Galapagos and Beyond” will be given in the Esther Wood Lecture at George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill.

Downeast Audubon President Leslie Clapp and partner Blaise deSibour traveled to the Galapagos archipelago last winter, spending two weeks.

After that they spent a month on the mainland, where they explored one of the world’s most mega-diverse ecological hotspots.

For more information on either talk, call 374-5012.
