DEDHAM — Several Maine all-terrain vehicle clubs will ride their ATVs through their regions and host cookouts on Saturday, Aug. 27, to raise funds that will help send children with physical and developmental disabilities to camp sessions at Camp CaPella.
Last year, members from 24 Maine ATV clubs participated in the ATV Ride for Camp CaPella Kids.
All are invited to ride, watch and join the celebration. No club memberships are required, though ATVs must be registered equipment. No dirt bikes are allowed. All the ATV club rides will be held rain or shine.
An ATV ride will be co-hosted by the Acadia Area ATV’ers (Ellsworth), Airline Snackbar ATV’ers (Beddington) and Airline ATV Riders (Eddington). ATV’ers will meet at the Airline Lodge and Snackbar in Beddington, 40 miles east of Bangor on Route 9 and Route 193, from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. for registration with a $5 donation. The ride will begin at 10. Following the ride there will be a cookout behind the Airline Lodge and Snack Bar (donations requested).
Located on Phillips Lake in Dedham, or Lucerne-in-Maine (12 miles from Bangor, 13 miles from Ellsworth), Camp CaPella (www.campcapella.org) provides quality-of-life experiences for people with disabilities and their families.
